Below is a list of active Macomb County projects.
Mound Road in Sterling Heights and Warren
Location: Between I-696 and Hall Road (M-59)
Traffic: The road is open to traffic. There will be intermittent lane closures to complete landscaping and utility work during the winter and spring. Final landscaping and restoration work is anticipated to be completed in 2024.
Duration: August 2021 – 2024
Description: Road reconstruction. Work is part of the Innovate Mound project.
Dequindre Road at the Shelby Township border
Location: The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) is continuing to work on the second phase of infrastructure improvements in the area of Dequindre Road between Hamlin Road and Avon Road and Dequindre Road between 23 Mile Road and 24 Mile Road. Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detours and seek alternate routes when possible.
Duration: November 6, 2023 – December 2024
Description: Installation of new 96-inch water transmission main. Work is part of the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) project. Contact 1-877-237-7311 or 96inchwatermain@glwater.org for additional information.
Garfield Road in Macomb Township
Location: Between 23 Mile Road and 25 Mile Road
Traffic: Disruptions to traffic are anticipated in the vicinity of 24 Mile Road and Garfield Road for pavement milling work. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: Fall 2023 – October 2024
Washington Road in Chesterfield Township
Location: Between Baker Road and 25 Mile Road over the Salt River
Traffic: Washington Street will be closed to through traffic between 25 Mile Road and Baker Road. Alternate north and south routes in the area include Gratiot Avenue, I-94, Burdon Road and County Line Road. A posted detour is in place. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: January 8, 2024 – July 2024
Description: Bridge replacement.
25 Mile Road in Shelby Township
Location: Between Mound Road and Van Dyke Avenue over the Lawson Drain
Traffic: There will be intermittent lane closures to construct a new pedestrian bridge on the north side of 25 Mile Road. The road will remain open during construction operations.
Duration: January 2024 – June 2024
Description: Pedestrian bridge construction.
Kelly Road in Clinton Township and Fraser
Location: Between 14 Mile Road and 15 Mile Road
Traffic: The road will remain open to thru traffic with lane closures in place during construction operations. Malyn Boulevard at Kelly Road will be closed to through traffic for approximately seven days for concrete paving work along the west side of Kelly Road. Northbound Kelly Road between 14 Mile Road and 15 Mile Road is open. Southbound Kelly Road between 14 Mile Road and 15 Mile Road is closed. Traffic on eastbound and westbound 15 Mile Road remains shifted for work at the intersection of Kelly Road. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Description: Road reconstruction.
23 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township
Location: Between CN Railroad and Gratiot Avenue (M-3)
Traffic: The road will remain open to traffic with one lane open in each direction with turning movement restrictions, lane closures, and flagging operations (when necessary) in place during construction operations. Chesterfield Road south of 23 Mile Road will be closed to all traffic and access to businesses will be maintained. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: April 22, 2024 – August 2024
Description: Road reconstruction. The project includes reconstructing the existing asphalt road to a five lane concrete road, storm sewer construction, CN Railroad grade crossing reconstruction, utility relocations, and restoration work.
18 Mile Road in Clinton Township
Location: Between Hayes Road and east of Garfield Road
Traffic: 18 Mile Road will remain open with one-way traffic between Hayes Road and Garfield Road and two-way traffic will be maintained for work east of Garfield Road during construction operations. A posted detour will be in place. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: May 13, 2024 – July 2024
Description: Road rehabilitation.
33 Mile Road in Richmond and Richmond Township
Location: Between Lowe Plank Road and North Main Street (M-19)
Traffic: Eastbound 33 Mile Road will be closed during the first stage of construction operations. Westbound 33 Mile Road will be closed during the second stage of construction operations. A posted detour is in place. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: May 15, 2024 – July 2024
Description: Preventative maintenance.
🚧 Kelly Road in Clinton Township 🚧
Location: Between 15 Mile Road and South Nunneley Road
Traffic: Starting the week of July 1, the entrances to Penrod Drive and Matthew Drive will be closed for construction operations. One northbound lane will remain open while southbound traffic will be closed during construction operations. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: June 17, 2024 – August 2024
Description: Road rehabilitation.
🚧 North Pointe Parkway in Harrison Township 🚧
Location: Between Ashland Avenue and North Willowood Drive
Traffic: Northbound North Pointe Parkway between Metropolitan Parkway and South River Road will be closed and southbound North Pointe Parkway will remain open during pavement repair operations. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: June 26, 2024 – July 2024
Description: Concrete pavement repair. The project is part of MCDR's 2024 pavement preservation program.
🚧 Ebeling Road in Bruce Township 🚧
Location: Between Van Dyke Avenue (M-53) and McKay Road
Traffic: The road will remain open to traffic with intermittent flagging operations in place during construction operations. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Duration: July 8, 2024 – August 2024
Description: Asphalt preservation and resurfacing. The project is part of MCDR's 2024 pavement preservation program.
🚧 30 Mile Road in Washington Township 🚧
Location: Between Van Dyke Avenue (M-53) and Kildare Drive
