Two Individuals Arraigned for Carjacking in Warren

A 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old juvenile have been arraigned in Warren District Court in connection with a carjacking.

Two Individuals Arraigned for Carjacking in Warren

Mount Clemens, MI -  A 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old juvenile have been arraigned in Warren District Court in connection with a carjacking.

It is alleged that on Friday, May 31, 2024, Larry Moses, Jr. and a male juvenile went to a residence where a four-wheeler was being sold. One of the defendants pulled a gun and pointed it at the seller. The two defendants then fled the area on the four-wheeler. The owner of the four-wheeler got in his truck and followed the two defendants. The seller was shot at multiple times by the defendants as they fled the area. 

The juvenile was charged with Carjacking, a life felony, Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a five year felony, and Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony.  Larry Moses, Jr. was charged with  Carjacking, a life felony, Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a five year felony, Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, a five year felony.  Moses is also being charged as a habitual second offender.

Moses and the juvenile were arraigned today in Warren District Court by District Court Judge Steve Bieda where he set bond at $1 million dollars, no 10% for each defendant. The two have a Probable Cause Conference scheduled on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 9:30am and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 9:30am by Warren District Court Chief Judge John Chmura.
 

“Their decision to carjack an innocent victim at gunpoint and subsequently open fire on him reflects a disregard for human life and the safety of our community. We will ensure they are held accountable for their violent actions and to send a clear message that such crimes will not be tolerated," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
