Mount Clemens, MI - Teresa Lopiccolo, age 42, was bound over on Monday, June 17, 2024 to Macomb County Circuit Court for owing thousands in unpaid child support by Clinton Township District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.

On Friday, April 5, 2019, a judgment of divorce was entered and ordered Teresa Lopiccolo to pay child support for two minor children. On Monday, March 11, 2024, the State of Michigan initiated an investigation on Lopiccolo for failing to pay child support. Lopiccolo has failed to work with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office to resolve her child support and as a result, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Teresa Lopiccolo with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Family Division fully investigates and reaches out to the non custodial parent for cooperation before charges are issued.  If the non-custodial parent is having issues paying their child support, needs it lowered, or has any other issues the Family Division is here to help and will work with the non-custodial parent.

Teresa Lopiccolo was arraigned on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Clinton Township 41B District Court where Magistrate Zemke set bond at $3,325.00.  Lopiccolo still owes $13,300 in back child support. On Monday, June 17, 2024 Lopiccolo was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court where she will be arraigned by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Switalski on a date to be determined.

“The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Family Division is here to work with parents to meet their financial responsibility to their children.  We are here to help.  Charging a non custodial parent is a last resort when the non custodial parent refuses to work with our office," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the people.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
