Judge Rachel Rancilio was elected to the Circuit Court bench on November 8th, 2016. Judge Rachel Rancilio was a partner in the law firm of Fischer, Garon, Hoyumpa & Rancilio in Mt. Clemens. For fourteen years she specialized in complex domestic, civil and criminal litigation, serving as attorney-of-record in more than two hundred cases before the Macomb circuit bench. Rachel, while playing Division 1 Softball, attended the University of Detroit Mercy on an academic scholarship and was a member of Wayne State University Law School’s Law Review.  She enjoys spending time with her two children.

Scheduling days and times

Motion Day will be held in person.

JUDGE’S COPIES MUST BE HAND DELIEVERED OR MAILED ONLY.

Day: Monday (Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday)

Time: 8:30 a.m. for Attorneys and 1:30 p.m. for Pro Pers (Self-Representing)

Friend of the Court (FOC) Monday Motions in front of the Referee will be held in accordance with each Referee’s rules and procedures. You will receive those notices directly from the FOC.

Status Conferences: Thursdays, 8:30 a.m., via telephone with Judge Rancilio’s Referee. Referee will initiate the call. Do NOT log into Zoom.

If both parties are represented by Counsel, clients do NOT have to appear.

Juvenile Hearings will be scheduled at Judge Rancilio’s discretion regarding zoom vs in person. Date Certain Trials must be held in person.

Adoption Hearings will be scheduled at Judge Rancilio’s discretion regarding zoom vs in person.

PPOs, Name Changes, Friend of the Court Show Cause Hearings, Date Certain Trials of any nature and Evidentiary Hearings of any nature: Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m., in person.

Zoom dockets begin at 9:00 a.m. Each case will be called when all parties are present and on a first come first serve basis.

Settlement Conferences: Wednesdays (in person) and Thursdays (via zoom), 9:30 a.m.

If both parties are represented by Counsel, clients do NOT have to appear.

Trials (not set as a Date Certain): Wednesdays (in person) and Thursdays (via zoom), 9:00 a.m.

If proceeding with Proofs/Entry of JOD on the Settlement Conference date, Status Conference date and/or Trial date, Plaintiff and Plaintiff’s Counsel only are required to appear.

Judgments of Divorce and all required accompanying Orders MUST be e-filed no later than the Tuesday of the week before the Hearing.
